Surprises After The Storm

Not only is it Friday, but it’s also the beginning of a new month and the end of the storm.

As Harvey leaves us to begin drying out, we find pleasure in fundamental truths and examples of people helping people. My heart goes out to those in Texas and New Orleans who have lost so much and still have a battle in front of them. It teaches us all to appreciate what we have, not to take people for granted, and to reach out however possible to help others.

In my small town just outside of the Memphis area, we did get some leftover rain from Harvey, tornado watches have passed, and I haven’t heard of too much damage yet—a few closed streets until the Wolf River goes down again—but thankfully nothing serious.

I stepped outside this morning and saw some of my favorite yard friends enjoying the water left behind, and I’m sharing a few pictures with you to celebrate life today.

I hope you all have a great September, keep writing and editing, and enjoy some time with a good book.
