I haven’t written a post in a long while, things have been happening around here. Life happens, family happens, our internal struggles happen. This past year my family and I have been through major changes…

The important thing to remember whenever any of us go through major life changes is that stepping outside of the known into unknown territory is scary but also good. We grow, learn, and push our tolerances. We exercise our durability when we can say goodbye to the past and embrace the phantom future.

Not all change is pleasant. Sometimes we work hard toward an objective, only to have to scrap it, like a bad book idea after writing 50k words. This is often what writers face after NaNoWriMo. But it’s worth the time because writing a binge book is good exercise for any writer, no matter where it ends up. We exercise our craft, plot on the fly, and support fellow writers.

Sometimes a NaNoWriMo project becomes your next great achievement. Taking the chance and trying to immerse yourself into the writing is a good crusade. The important take away is the exercise…the doing…the stepping into the unknown. Be fearless this month, writers.

I am not participating in NaNoWriMo this year but wish all writers the best of luck!
