Always looking for more time to WRITE

This has been a cold winter for most, so I am grateful to be living in sunny Florida again.

This is our third time settling here, and hopefully, the last major move for us. We swam in December! I’ve waited sixteen years for a pool again, and I’m enjoying every swim day. Finally, my hubby has retired, something I had been anticipating for years. We had researched the ins and outs of retirement, read the books, and listened to podcasts. Yet, we weren’t prepared.

First off, we had never been so busy. Visions of carefree lounging by the pool and beach were gone. We haven’t been to the beach for months. We are still cleaning up after the two hurricanes that passed our way last fall. Nothing big or major, just lots of tree trimming, clean up, and the needed new roof is almost complete. (As I write this post, the workers are outside making noise while finishing up the last concrete touches to the roof tiles.)

The days are flying by!

My dream of retirement, of me sitting at the computer writing stories for hours every day, has become more like a small carved out niche of time in the day. I get some work done while hubby runs to the store in the afternoon. All is not lost; it’s only a matter of getting settled, that’s what I tell myself. We shall see. As the remaining days of this year unfold, the plan is to schedule more time for writing and less in the garden. I plan to get four books (children’s series) out this year.

Wish me luck! I ask that from my readers often because, like you, life is going by too fast for the things we want to get finished.

Keep reading, keep writing, and say a prayer for all our challenges.
